Bird Sightings, Spring 2005 25 May 2005 2:01 p.m.

Interesting bird sightings, spring 2005, first installment.

1. Wood duck pair, pond off of Kenwood Parkway, between the Walker and highway 394.

2. Wood duck pair, pond in Theodore Wirth park between the Eloise Butler garden and the grade school.

3. Egret, great, flying over Mall of America, Race for the Cure, Mother's Day.

4. Egret, great, flying over Lake of the Isles.

5. Heron, great blue, flying over Lake of the Isles, chased by small songbird.

6. Killdeer, lives behind elevated train tracks, off of Hiawatha Ave. and 28th St. (seen & heard).

7. Red-shouldered hawk, off highway 52, somewhere south of Cannon Falls, perched on giant farm irrigation equipment.

8. Barn swallow, dive bombing Lake of the Isles.
